For over twenty years, Kate Tucker has provided organisational development consultancy both as in-house specialist and as an external consultant. During this time she has worked across the spectrum of sectors and professions in Australia and Asia Pacific. In addition to her expertise in designing and facilitating leadership programs, team effectiveness interventions and coaching services, Kate’s expertise lies in large-scale human systems change where she readily connects to people and their context, drawing from a diverse tool box of methodologies to bring about contemporary, practical solutions.

During the past five years, Kate’s programs have received state, national and international recognition (executive education) for both innovation and efficacy. The hallmark of Kate’s  programs are an equal emphasis on enabling personal growth and building participant capability to intervene to strengthen and transform systems.

Crafting learning environments for people to deepen their connection within themselves, with each other and with the deep challenges of their roles, to broaden their perceptual lens and increase their psychological flexibility is foundational for leading in complexity. The strengths of her work is due to her capacity for connection and collaboration with clients, faculty and the learners themselves, her emphasis that adult learners are best served by learning, not training (transformational learning), allowing participants to do what they can for themselves (self-mastery), providing opportunity for real-time sense making (reflection) and experimentation (experiential).

Kate maintains an appetite for ongoing learning due to her natural curiosity and to challenge herself to stretch her own practice and openness to the learner experience. This year she is currently studying with Dr Margaret Wheatley in the US and maintains an ongoing inquiry into Process Orientated Organisational Psychology.

From a pedagogical perspective her praxis draws from Adaptive Leadership, systems psycho-dynamics, action learning, appreciative inquiry, and whole system participatory organisation development processes. She is a member of the International Organisation Development Association and has previously held staff roles with ANZ Bank, BHP Petroleum and Acterna Asia Pacific.

Kate is committed to pro-bono community strengthening activities. As a Director on a Board of a Community Bank, she continues to offer her professional expertise while being a student of the considerable talent and know how in her local community.

Residing in Central Victoria with her husband and young son, Kate enjoys spending her free time in her family’s hobby vine yard and vegetable patch, or walking country lanes.
